Ahead of tomorrow’s meeting of the European Parliament’s Legal Affairs Committee in Brussels, MOF helped Global Witness to stage a parade of masked Dictators. We appeared “in protest at plans to water down upcoming European laws to make oil, mining and timber companies more transparent about the billions of dollars that they pay in revenues to countries around the world.”

BIG SWEETIE SHOE

Yesterday was all about big shoes. And sweets. Behold a 2m high stilleto covered in over 22,000 Liquorice Allsorts which we installed at the East Midlands Design Centre (Alfreton, Derbyshire) to celebrate a great first quarter – especially in shoe sales!

KEEPING MUM FOR KIPLING

Mr Kipling is a firm believer in exceedingly happy moments and he is spreading free moments of joy around the UK through the launch of dispenser units which dispense free slices of Mr Kipling cakes at regular intervals. The free Mr Kipling cakes will bring spontaneous moments of joy to passing consumers and brightening up their day. To bring these slices of joy to life this morning, we provided a line-up of 35 x MOF mums queuing anxiously to receive their very own spontaneous moment of joy!

At the front if the queue, handing out these little slices of joy, we loved meeting one of the UK’s happiest celebrities: Joanna Page from “Gavin and Stacey”.

He is bolstering our production team, bringing with him a host of experiences, skills and talents…including dodgy 3-ball juggling and an actual Liverpool accent.

MOF Mannequin Madness

Just got back from TKMaxx’s “Forward on Fundamentals” conference at the Marriot City Centre Hotel in Bristol, where we provided assorted fun and surprises for delegates and staff.

We love TKMaxx (who doesn’t?!) and our performer team had a blast. Big thanks to Conference Manager Andy Upfield for looking after us; and a huge hurrah to the Ministers for everything… especially for unleashing the genius that was “Mannequin Madness”…

CONTAGION ON OXFORD STREET

A team of MOF Performers in white clinical boiler suits and masks – armed with a sterilisation spray backpacks – were today seen to pounce on members of public and drag them forcibly into the shop window of HMV Oxford Street, where they were quarantined in full view of shoppers, hence creating a memorable street theatre moment.

The reason? To warn London of the outbreak of “Contagion” on DVD…

The scene on Saturday was the Haven Holiday Resort at Hafan Y Mor.

A tip top team of talented Ministerswere sent on a mission to North West Wales to teach magic, circus and street theatre skills to 250 very enthusiastic Haven Fun Star performers. An action-packed day was enjoyed by all in which we all spun lots of plates, tossed a diabolo or two, juggled a load of balls, improvised a variety of shows…and made masses of noise!

Exactly fifteen years ago today, The Ministry was formed by James and his pals Julian and Tom. An awful lot of fun has occurred since 1997; but whilst the faces may have changed, the MOF spirit is as rampant as ever. So a million thank-yous to everyone who has contributed, either by dressing up in something silly (you know who you are) or by giving us a job. We salute you!

NO REGRETS FROM ZEBRA MINISTERS

The Electric Zebra is a new black and white striped electronic cigarette that bucks the trend in e-cigarettes by looking nothing like a cigarette (it even has a green LED light on the end!) 30 x Ministry Zebras took to the streets this morning to show them off.

The launch coincides with Electric Zebra’s recent study of 2,000 people on their ‘biggest regrets in life’.
